Over 200 miles of trails through thick forest and across high plateaus offer endless possibility for all levels of hikers. The only noise you’ll hear is the trembling of the aspen leaves, the song of the birds and your own footsteps. The variety of wildflowers is fantastic: the alpine meadows are freckled with all colours of the rainbow: Columbia Lillies, Wild Orchids, Red Columbines, Mountain Hairbells are just a few of mother natures repertoire.
You are likely to encounter some interesting birds out there as well; in addition to a wide variety of songbirds, we watch the Redtailed Hawk, Bold Eagle, the Great Gray Owl and the Big Horned Owl, the Pilliated Woodpecker, occasionally the Clark's Nutcracker and others crossing our path. A great variety of Waterfowls can be watched when travelling alongside the Beaverponds.
The virtually untouched Wilderness is the habitat of the Black Bear, Moose, Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer, Coyote and Wolf amongst other small mammals; so pack your binoculars and start exploring...
Whether you would just like to explore the area on a Mountain Bike or treat your body to a demanding challenge, there are a lot of different biking routes to choose from. You can ride out alone or with a guide, just as you desire. There are some bikes available at the ranch, but if you are a serious biker, you are very welcome to bring along your own!
